Yes! Up to 80% of UV passes through clouds. You'll often see your bead change color even when it's overcast—that's the whole point.
The bead lightens where SPF touches it (UV is blocked). It's actually a cool demo for kids to see sunscreen working in real-time.
Adult sizes now (fits most wrists 6-8 inches). Kids' sizes are coming soon—but many kids 8+ can wear the adult size.
The photochromic bead should work for years with normal wear. Store out of direct sun when not wearing to preserve the color-change effect.
